How it works
Three steps from workout to playlist.
Pick a workout, make a playlist, press play. Here’s what happens at each step.
Pick a workout
Open YourBPM and choose a past workout from the calendar. Workouts with heart-rate data can become playlists. Workouts tracked on Apple Watch work best.
Make playlist
Tap Make playlist. YourBPM splits the workout’s heart-rate curve into segments and finds a song for each one at a matching tempo. The playlist shows how many it found, like 40 of 40.
Press play
The playlist plays inside YourBPM, through your Apple Music subscription. Nothing is added to your Apple Music library.
The mapping
Heart rate maps to tempo, 1:1.
Heart rate
140bpm
Song tempo
140BPM
A stretch where your heart rate sat near 140 bpm gets songs near 140 BPM. When your heart rate climbed, the tempo climbs with it. When it eased off, the tempo eases too.
The playlist is built from a workout you already recorded. It doesn’t adjust while you listen.
Good to know
Before you start
Works best with Apple Watch workouts
The match depends on heart-rate data across the whole workout. Workouts tracked on Apple Watch give YourBPM the most complete curve.

Some tempos have fewer songs
Very slow and very fast stretches have fewer songs to choose from. If no song is close enough, that stretch is skipped, and the playlist marks it.
Example: one stretch skipped
