Questions, answered.

The common ones are below. If yours isn’t, email us.

Do I need Apple Music?

Yes. Playlists play inside YourBPM through Apple Music, so you need an Apple Music subscription. It’s sold separately.

Does it work without Apple Watch?

YourBPM needs workouts with heart-rate data. Workouts tracked on Apple Watch work best. [TBD: which other heart-rate sources are supported]

Does it change while I run?

No. YourBPM builds the playlist from a workout you already recorded. It doesn’t adjust while you listen.

Why didn’t a segment get a song?

Some tempos have fewer songs to choose from, especially very slow or very fast stretches. If no song is close enough, that stretch is skipped, and the playlist marks it. [TBD: what plays during a skipped stretch]

Is my health data shared?

Raw heart-rate samples stay on your iPhone. To build a playlist, YourBPM’s server receives segment lengths and target tempos, which mirror your heart rate 1:1. No account or name is attached. [TBD: retention and service providers.] Details are in the privacy policy.

Does it change my Apple Music library?

No. Nothing is added to your Apple Music library. Playlists play inside YourBPM.

Does it work with Spotify?

No. YourBPM plays through Apple Music only.

Does it work outside the US?

[TBD: launch countries]

How much does it cost?

[Price TBD]

How do I cancel?

[TBD: steps depend on final pricing.] There’s no YourBPM account to close, and your Apple Music subscription is separate.
